J. J. McGuire was involved with the development team for the New Scugog Municipal Building from the earliest phases until its completion The new Municipal Building consisted of approximately 16,000 sf of Municipal office space incorporating a new Council Chamber and offices for all Municipal departments and Councillors. This building was constructed on the same site as the former town hall and construction had to be performed without disrupting the ongoing daily operations of surrounding businesses, council, and municipal employees.

J. J. McGuire also constructed the new commercial addition to this Municipal building.
